Is there an in-person requirement?

In order to successfully complete the esports BTEC, once every six weeks (during term time) students must spend the day together at our partner college in Basingstoke, Queen Mary's College. The in-person sessions will involve practical sessions, assessments, use of the esports arena, getting hands-on with industry-standard equipment, and spending time with teachers and classmates.

Why join an online school?

We offer the flexibility to study from anywhere, which can be particularly beneficial for students who may face challenges attending physical schools or colleges. Sstudents have the freedom to create their own schedules and study at their own pace, providing greater control over their education.

MVA allows students to connect with other students from around the world and form friendships that can last a lifetime. Our buzzing community of engaged students is continually growing and evolving. Every day at MVA students have the opportunity to contribute to new ideas and the growth of the school.

We run after-school clubs that provide further opportunities for socialising and meeting like-minded peers.

We offer a highly unique sixth form program called 'Symposia,' which is designed to prepare pupils for the kind of thinking needed for the transition to university. This programme includes a series of seminars and workshops on topics such as philosophy, literature, and critical thinking, helping students to develop the skills they need to succeed in higher education.

We run a full careers service and UCAS training sessions, providing students with support and guidance as they navigate the often-challenging process of applying for universities and jobs. With our focus on preparing students for the future, we aim to ensure that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers.

What qualifications do I get by studying the BTEC?

The BTEC in esports is equivalent to 1 A level and gives you the same UCAS points. The qualification is recognized by universities, colleges, and employers across the UK and around the world.

What will I learn in the course?

The BTEC in esports covers a range of topics, from game design and development to event management and marketing. You will learn how to design, develop, and manage esports events and tournaments, as well as develop your skills in game design and development.
